Company Story

UBTECH Robotics is a Shenzhen-based company specializing in humanoid robots and AI education. Founded in 2012 by James Zhou (Zhou Jian), UBTECH became the first humanoid robot company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in December 2023, with its Walker S robot deployed in automotive manufacturing.

History

The company built a comprehensive portfolio of full-stack core technologies including robotic motion planning, servo actuators, computer vision, SLAM, and its proprietary Robot Operating System Application Framework (ROSA). In 2017, UBTECH exhibited at IFA Berlin. In 2018, Telecom Italia Mobile set a Guinness world record with 1,372 synchronized dancing UBTECH Alpha S1 robots.

During COVID-19 in 2020, UBTECH robots assisted medical workers treating patients in Shenzhen. In 2021, the company delivered robots to 300 pre-schools in Seoul, South Korea, expanding its education robotics footprint.

UBTECH's IPO on December 29, 2023, raised HK$1 billion on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at HK$90 per share, with a market capitalization of HK$37.6 billion, making it the first humanoid robot company to list on the HKEX. The Walker S, its flagship industrial humanoid, struck the ceremonial gong at the listing ceremony. UBTECH has since partnered with leading new energy vehicle companies to deploy Walker S in manufacturing scenarios.
