Under the arrangement, Bitcoin Japan will become the exclusive distributor of the designated products in Japan, subject to specific contractual exceptions for existing customers.
The company plans to build a robotics business that extends beyond equipment sales.
Its proposed activities include paid industrial trials, system integration, maintenance, operator training and Robotics-as-a-Service, allowing customers to access robots through leasing and service arrangements.
Bitcoin Japan also intends to develop a Physical AI data business using information collected during robot operations, subject to applicable permissions and data protection requirements.
Manufacturing and logistics will be the initial commercial focus.
The first stage involves preparing Walker C1 for Japanese certification, establishing local support infrastructure and working with potential customers to evaluate industrial applications.
Before certification is completed, the agreement permits the supply of designated robots for legally permitted research, experimentation, data collection and demonstrations.
The exclusive distribution period will run for 36 months from the completion of the first model’s required certification.
For UBTECH, the agreement adds another international commercial channel as the company expands manufacturing capacity and develops industrial applications for its Walker humanoids.
The manufacturer reported sales of 921 full-size embodied AI humanoids during the first half of 2026, generating RMB 590.3 million in revenue from that product and service category.
It has also expanded its industrial partnerships in China, including collaborations involving automotive manufacturing and factory logistics.
Bitcoin Japan, formerly Marusho Hotta, began developing its Physical AI business in October as part of a broader strategy involving robotics and artificial intelligence.
Neither company has disclosed the agreement’s financial terms, confirmed Japanese customer orders or a timetable for wider commercial deployments.
