About Iron

Iron is a full-size humanoid robot developed by XPeng, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer and artificial intelligence company. The platform builds on the company’s expertise in autonomous driving, AI computing, and intelligent manufacturing to create a general-purpose humanoid for industrial and commercial applications. The robot stands approximately 1.78 meters tall, weighs around 70 kilograms, and features a human-inspired design with a bionic spine, flexible skin, and an expressive curved display integrated into its head. Each hand provides 22 degrees of freedom for dexterous manipulation, while three in-house XPeng Turing AI chips deliver a combined 2,250 TOPS of computing power to run the company’s second-generation vision-language-action model. Iron also incorporates solid-state battery technology to improve energy density and reduce weight.
