Atlas is Boston Dynamics’ all-electric humanoid introduced on April 17, 2024. This profile covers that earlier electric prototype, separately from the later product version. Its launch followed the retirement of the hydraulic Atlas research platform. Boston Dynamics described the electric robot as stronger and able to move through a broader range of motion than previous Atlas generations. The company planned to test and develop industrial applications with a small group of customers, beginning with Hyundai. Those plans describe the prototype’s development programme at launch; they do not establish broad commercial availability or the specifications of the later product.
