Boston Dynamics’ 2026 industrial humanoid product, with 56 degrees of freedom and autonomous battery swapping for factory work.
Atlas is Boston Dynamics’ electric industrial humanoid product unveiled in January 2026. It is designed for work in existing factory and warehouse spaces, including material handling, part sequencing and machine tending. The product is 1.9 m tall, weighs 90 kg and has 56 degrees of freedom. Boston Dynamics lists a sustained payload of 30 kg. Its instantaneous loading mode allows 50 kg. The single-hand carrying configuration is rated at 20 kg. Advertised battery life is four hours during normal operation, with a heavy-lifting configuration rated at two hours. Atlas can navigate to a charging station and swap its own battery to continue working. The [earlier electric Atlas platform](/boston-dynamics/atlas), introduced in 2024, has its own historical profile. Its research demonstrations and the hydraulic Atlas program are separate from this industrial product.
