Amazon is an American technology company founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994. Best known for e-commerce and cloud computing, Amazon has also become one of the world’s largest robotics operators, deploying more than one million robots across its global fulfillment network. The company develops advanced warehouse automation spanning autonomous mobile robots, AI-powered fulfillment systems, and intelligent logistics infrastructure. Alongside its in-house robotics programs, Amazon invests in next-generation automation through the Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund, including trials of Agility Robotics’ Digit humanoid robot within fulfillment centers. In 2026, Amazon also acquired Fauna Robotics, expanding its capabilities in embodied AI and humanoid robotics as part of its long-term automation strategy.
