About Reachy 2

Reachy 2 is an open-source humanoid robot developed by Pollen Robotics, a French robotics company founded in Bordeaux in 2016. Following Pollen Robotics’ acquisition by Hugging Face in 2025, Reachy 2 became the flagship hardware platform for LeRobot, Hugging Face’s open-source robotics ecosystem. The platform is designed for embodied AI research, robot learning, and human-robot interaction, providing researchers with a fully programmable and reproducible development platform. Reachy 2 features a humanoid upper body with two seven-degree-of-freedom arms powered by Pollen Robotics’ Orbita spherical joints, enabling smooth, human-like movement and manipulation of payloads up to approximately 3 kilograms per arm. The robot integrates RGB and depth cameras for perception, supports VR teleoperation, and can be mounted on an omnidirectional mobile base equipped with LiDAR for autonomous navigation. Its open hardware and software architecture allows developers to customize both the robot and its AI capabilities.
