China's government backed open source humanoid reference platform for the national robotics ecosystem.
Qinglong is a full-size humanoid robot developed by the National-Local Joint Humanoid Robot Innovation Center in Shanghai, a state-backed research institution established to accelerate China’s humanoid robotics industry. Qinglong serves as an open reference platform for embodied AI research, providing a common hardware and software foundation for universities, research institutes, and commercial developers. The robot stands approximately 1.85 meters tall, weighs around 80 kilograms, and features 43 active degrees of freedom with high-torque actuators for whole-body mobility and manipulation. It supports autonomous walking, object manipulation, environmental perception, and human interaction, with a maximum walking speed of approximately 1 meter per second and a payload capacity of up to 40 kilograms. The platform also integrates high-performance onboard computing to support advanced AI workloads.
