About MagicBot Z1

MagicBot Z1 is a compact humanoid robot developed by MagicLab, a robotics company based in Wuxi, China. Designed as an accessible platform for embodied AI research, education, exhibitions, and commercial interaction, Z1 combines dynamic locomotion with a modular architecture that supports both entry-level and advanced development. The robot stands approximately 1.37 meters tall, weighs around 40 kilograms including its battery, and features 24 degrees of freedom in its standard configuration, expandable to nearly 50 degrees of freedom for research applications. Its foldable design simplifies transportation and storage, while high-performance actuators enable agile whole-body movement. The perception system integrates 3D LiDAR, depth cameras, fisheye cameras, and tactile sensing to support autonomous navigation, obstacle avoidance, and multimodal AI interaction. Battery life is approximately two hours.
