About Moya
Moya is a biomimetic humanoid robot developed by DroidUp, also known as Zhuoyide, a robotics company based in Shanghai, China. Designed for human-centered interaction, Moya emphasizes realism, emotional expression, and natural communication, making it suitable for healthcare, eldercare, education, and human-robot interaction research. The platform reflects DroidUp’s vision of humanoid robots as social companions rather than industrial workers. A defining feature of Moya is its lifelike construction. The robot combines synthetic skin with soft materials that mimic human skin, fat, and muscle, while integrated heating maintains a surface temperature of approximately 32 to 36 degrees Celsius for a warm, human-like touch. Cameras positioned behind the eyes enable natural eye contact and facial tracking, while an expressive face produces detailed micro-expressions and emotional responses. Movement is controlled by DroidUp’s proprietary cerebellar-inspired motion system, which the company says delivers highly natural human-like walking and body coordination.
