About Atom

Atom is the first full-size humanoid robot from Dobot Robotics, a Shenzhen, China company known for desktop and industrial robot arms. Unveiled in March 2025, it stands about 1.53 meters tall, weighs roughly 62 kilograms, and has 28 degrees of freedom in its body before counting the hands. Dobot's focus is precision: the robot is rated to a repeatability of about 0.05 millimeters, close to industrial arms, which the company points toward tasks like fine assembly, quality inspection, and handling of delicate components. A straight-knee walking design is said to cut locomotion energy use by around 42 percent versus bent-knee bipeds, and Atom can move at up to about 1.5 meters per second. Perception comes from an Intel RealSense depth camera and a 60 frames-per-second full HD binocular vision system, with onboard AI running Dobot's own operator model. Dobot showed Atom at a price near 27,500 US dollars and said it planned mass production as early as 2025, positioning it as an unusually affordable full-size humanoid for industrial and service settings.
