Cost efficient humanoid robot with in house actuators and proprietary VLA models for industrial use.
Generation 1 is the first humanoid robot developed by Vanar Robots, a robotics startup founded in Mumbai, India, in 2024. Built as a general-purpose humanoid, the platform is intended to operate in environments designed for people, using existing tools, infrastructure, and workflows across industrial and commercial settings. Vanar’s goal is to automate repetitive physical work while allowing people to focus on higher-value tasks. The robot stands approximately 1.75 meters tall, weighs around 50 kilograms, and incorporates the company’s proprietary high-torque actuators alongside in-house vision-language-action AI models for perception, reasoning, and manipulation. Vanar is developing the platform to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, cleaning, inspection, and operational support across a variety of industries.
