About Adam

Adam is a full-size bipedal humanoid robot from PNDbotics, a company based in China. It stands about 1.6 meters tall, weighs roughly 60 kilograms, and has around 25 degrees of freedom driven by quasi-direct-drive, force-controlled actuators, with peak torque of up to about 340 newton-meters in the legs. A biomimetic torso and pelvis design underpin its human-like locomotion, while reinforcement and imitation learning let it adapt movement and manipulation to changing conditions. Control runs on an Intel i7 platform with a dedicated real-time unit, and PNDbotics ships an open SDK compatible with NVIDIA Isaac tools, which is why Adam is positioned both for industrial automation and as a research platform for embodied AI. The company offers Adam in several configurations, including bipedal and upper-body variants, and has shown the robot in public demonstrations. Early customer trials are under way, with wider production planned as field feedback accumulates.
