About M1
M1 is a full-size humanoid robot developed by PHYBOT, a Chinese robotics startup founded in 2024 by alumni of Tsinghua University. Built for industrial automation and high-performance embodied AI, the platform emphasizes power density, dynamic mobility, and heavy-duty manipulation for demanding commercial environments. The robot stands approximately 1.72 meters tall, weighs under 60 kilograms, and features 32 degrees of freedom powered by PHYBOT’s proprietary cycloidal actuators. The company reports peak joint torque of up to 530 Nm and more than 10 kW of instantaneous system power, enabling the robot to lift approximately 10 to 20 kilograms per arm and carry backpack payloads exceeding 50 kilograms. A 72-volt power system with dual hot-swappable batteries provides more than two hours of continuous operation. M1 combines NVIDIA Jetson Orin and Intel Core i7 computing with 3D LiDAR, stereo vision, and inertial sensing to support autonomous navigation, balance, and manipulation.
