About Forerunner K2

Forerunner K2 is a full-size industrial humanoid robot developed by Shanghai Kepler Robotics, a Chinese robotics company specializing in embodied AI and intelligent automation. Although named K2, it represents the fifth generation of the company’s Forerunner humanoid platform. The robot stands approximately 1.78 meters tall, weighs around 85 kilograms, and features 52 degrees of freedom, enabling whole-body mobility and dexterous manipulation for industrial environments. Its rope-driven five-finger hands provide approximately 11 degrees of active and passive freedom each, allowing precise object handling and payloads of up to 15 kilograms per hand. Each hand incorporates dense tactile sensing with 96 contact points across the fingertips, enabling force feedback and more reliable manipulation of complex objects. A 2.33 kWh battery provides up to eight hours of operation, supporting extended industrial shifts.
