HMND 01 is the first humanoid robot developed by Humanoid, a robotics and artificial intelligence company based in the United Kingdom. Built for industrial automation, the platform is designed to perform repetitive material handling and manufacturing tasks while operating safely alongside people. The company’s Alpha prototype was developed in approximately seven months and serves as the foundation for its commercial humanoid roadmap. The robot’s initial Alpha configuration uses a wheeled mobile base and stands approximately 2.2 meters tall. It features 29 active degrees of freedom, excluding the hands, and supports either dexterous five-finger hands with 12 degrees of freedom or simpler parallel grippers depending on the application. A 360-degree camera system and depth sensors provide environmental perception, while the platform is designed to carry payloads of up to 15 kilograms using both arms.
