About R1 Pro
R1 Pro is a wheeled mobile manipulation robot developed by Galaxea AI, an embodied AI company founded in 2023 by researchers from Tsinghua University and Stanford University. Built for logistics, manufacturing, research, and commercial automation, the platform combines autonomous mobility with dual-arm manipulation to perform complex physical tasks in human environments. Galaxea positions the R1 Pro as an embodied AI development platform optimized for real-world deployment. The robot stands approximately 1.7 meters tall, weighs around 96 kilograms, and features 26 degrees of freedom, including two seven-axis robotic arms capable of handling payloads of up to 10 kilograms each. A multi-axis torso extends the robot’s working range from floor level to approximately two meters, while its omnidirectional wheeled base provides stable and efficient indoor mobility. The perception system integrates multiple RGB cameras, wrist cameras, force sensors, and 360-degree LiDAR, powered by an NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin computing platform delivering approximately 200 TOPS.
