About GR-2

GR-2 is a general-purpose humanoid robot developed by Fourier Intelligence, a robotics company headquartered in Shanghai with deep expertise in rehabilitation robotics and exoskeleton technology. Introduced in 2024 as the successor to the GR-1, GR-2 advances the company’s humanoid platform with improved mobility, dexterity, and developer-focused capabilities for embodied AI research and commercial applications. The robot stands approximately 1.75 meters tall, weighs around 63 kilograms, and features 53 degrees of freedom powered by upgraded high-torque actuators. Each hand provides 12 degrees of freedom and incorporates tactile sensing for precise object manipulation, while a detachable battery supports approximately two hours of operation with rapid battery replacement. Fourier positions GR-2 as both a commercial humanoid and an open development platform. It includes a software development kit and supports widely used robotics frameworks including ROS, NVIDIA Isaac, and MuJoCo, enabling researchers and developers to build, train, and deploy custom embodied AI applications.
