PAL Robotics was founded in 2004 in Barcelona by Francesco Ferro with the vision of creating Europe's first humanoid robot. The company introduced REEM-A in 2005, which could walk, play chess, and recognize faces.
REEM-B followed in 2008, and in 2017 PAL unveiled TALOS, a 1.75m, 100kg humanoid with 32 degrees of freedom designed for industrial tasks. TIAGo became widely adopted in research, and ARI launched in 2019. The company joined the PAL Technology Group from Abu Dhabi.
