LG Electronics is a South Korean multinational electronics corporation founded in 1958, generating approximately $64 billion in annual revenue. In robotics, LG develops the CLOi family of commercial service robots, acquired a majority stake in Bear Robotics in 2025, and is developing CLOiD, a humanoid home robot. LG's vision is the "Zero Labor Home", integrating autonomous robots with its connected home appliances.

History

LG's robotics program took shape in 2017-2018 with the CLOi robot family at CES. The lineup expanded to include CLOi ServeBot for hospitality and CLOi GuideBot for customer environments. By 2024, LG launched a CLOi Robot subscription service.

LG accelerated robotics investments in 2024-2025. In March 2024, LG invested $60 million in Bear Robotics. In January 2025, LG acquired an additional 30% stake for 51% total ownership at a ~$600 million valuation. LG also invested in Figure AI and AgiBot.

At CES 2025, CEO William Cho unveiled the "Zero Labor Home" vision. In January 2026, LG announced CLOiD, a humanoid home robot with dual 7-DoF arms and five-fingered hands. LG has committed $12 billion to AI and robotics investment.
