Borg 01 is a modular humanoid robot developed by Borg Robotics, a company founded in 2022 and based in Detroit, Michigan. Rather than emphasizing dynamic stunts, the company designs it for repetitive, physically demanding jobs in manufacturing and warehouse settings, positioning it as a machine built to get real work done in existing workflows without redesigning workstations. Its defining trait is modularity: Borg 01 can autonomously switch between a bipedal configuration and a wheeled base, with the wheeled setup favored for efficiency and up to about 12 hours of operation per battery swap. It also swaps its own end effectors, choosing among vacuum grippers, dual grippers, and five-fingered hands, and supports an optional four-arm arrangement on the wheeled version. It stands about 1.7 meters tall. Key hardware is engineered in-house, including the Actuator 02, which Borg says delivers around 270 newton-meters of torque from a 1.6-kilogram package. Borg 01 is designed to work alongside the company's autonomous pallet jacks and forklifts, and was targeted to launch in 2025.
