Aria is a hyper-realistic social humanoid robot made by Realbotix, a publicly traded company (TSXV: XBOT) headquartered in Toronto, Canada, with operations in the United States. Unlike humanoids built for warehouse or factory work, Aria is designed for companionship, entertainment, and customer-facing interaction: the company states it is not meant to replace physical labor. Its expressive face uses a 17-motor actuation system driving the eyes, eyelids, eyebrows, jaw, and lips to reproduce subtle human expressions, and its faces are modular and interchangeable. Aria does not walk; it uses a wheeled base and an upper body, with actuators supplied through a partnership with the South Korean firm ROBOTIS. The AI is model-agnostic, built on a proprietary language layer that can run different underlying engines. Realbotix sells Aria commercially, with configurations reportedly priced from about 135,000 to over 175,000 US dollars and delivery quoted in a matter of weeks. It has been deployed in customer-service settings, including a kiosk in Las Vegas, making it a rare humanoid sold directly for social and service use.
