NEURA Robotics unveiled its fourth-generation 4NE1 humanoid on October 22 as it opened a robotics training center at Munich Airport with the Technical University of Munich. The new machine is slimmer and lighter than its predecessor and runs the company’s Neuron AI foundation model. NEURA says it was designed for series production, but has not provided a production schedule, confirmed deliveries or full technical specifications.
The TUM RoboGym occupies more than 2,300 square meters at LabCampus near Munich Airport. NEURA and the university are investing approximately €17 million under an initial three-year arrangement, with NEURA contributing around €11 million. Although the project was announced in March, the opening and Gen 4 unveiling took place on October 22. The robot was operating at the facility during the launch and is also appearing at NVIDIA GTC Berlin.
Inside the center, researchers and industrial partners are using physical robot demonstrations, human motion capture and simulation to develop manipulation skills. Participating companies bring practical processes from their workplaces, including moving boxes, filling bottles and handling wooden components. Trials have been underway since September, involving businesses from more than ten industries.
NEURA introduced Neuron AI on October 14, describing a model that combines vision, touch, audio and memory to guide robot actions. The company intends to use experience collected at its training centers to improve the model and distribute capabilities through its Neuraverse platform. A separate NEURA Gym is being developed with RWTH Aachen as part of the company’s international network.
The new robot’s presence at an operating training center offers a practical setting for continued development. Independent task-success results, production volumes and the timetable for commercial Gen 4 deliveries remain undisclosed.
