About Telexistence

Telexistence is a Tokyo-based robotics company developing AI-powered retail automation systems for convenience stores and other commercial environments. Inspired by the concept of “telexistence” first proposed by Professor Susumu Tachi in 1980, the company combines robotics, artificial intelligence, and remote operation to automate repetitive in-store tasks. Its flagship TX SCARA robots autonomously restock shelves using GORDON, the company’s proprietary AI system for perception, planning, and manipulation. Deployed across convenience stores in Japan, the platform enables robots to identify products, replenish inventory, and collaborate with human staff. Backed by investors including SoftBank and Airbus Ventures, Telexistence has raised more than $190 million to scale retail robotics and AI-driven automation.
