FuturHand Robotics
PrivateFuturHand Robotics develops dexterous robotic hands and control software for handling and assembly tasks that require fine motor skills. Its approach combines patented hand designs with techniques for transferring demonstrated human skills to robot actions. The company adapts its hardware and software to particular parts and processes, including cable handling, connector insertion and work with delicate or irregular objects. It identifies automotive assembly, food handling, electronics, data centers and laboratory operations as application areas. Co-founded by Carnegie Mellon robotics researcher Nancy Pollard, FuturHand is building a commercial business around adaptable robotic manipulation.
