Covariant develops AI software that helps robots perceive objects and choose actions in warehouse environments. Its work centers on learning models for tasks such as picking, handling and sorting across industrial robotic equipment. The company’s Covariant Brain connects perception and motion decisions with industrial robot equipment, and its research has also produced robotic foundation models. Amazon announced a non-exclusive technology-licensing agreement with Covariant in 2024. Its technology is intended to let industrial robots handle a wider variety of objects and adapt their behavior through learning, supporting fulfillment and distribution applications.
