NEURA Robotics and SECO Partner to Scale 4NE1 Compute Hardware in Europe

NEURA Robotics and Italian edge computing company SECO have signed a strategic partnership to develop and manufacture electronic compute modules for NEURA’s cognitive robot portfolio, including its 4NE1 humanoid.

The modules will integrate Qualcomm Technologies’ Dragonwing processors and form part of NEURA’s distributed “Brain + Nervous System” architecture, where sensing and compute are spread throughout the robot rather than concentrated entirely in a central processor.  

SECO will contribute embedded engineering, industrialization and manufacturing capabilities, with the partnership specifically aimed at supporting scalable series production in Europe.

The companies will also work together on physical AI systems for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing. That work will use real industrial production data to develop automation systems that can later be deployed across other facilities and markets.  

For NEURA, the deal adds a manufacturing partner to an existing relationship with Qualcomm. In March, NEURA announced that it would build parts of its robotics compute architecture around Qualcomm’s Dragonwing Robotics processors, including the IQ10 platform designed for autonomous mobile robots and humanoids.  

SECO already develops industrial computing platforms around Qualcomm hardware, giving NEURA a European partner capable of taking those designs from engineering into production.

No production volumes, financial terms or timeline for the first SECO-manufactured 4NE1 modules were disclosed.
