Founded in Shenzhen in October 2025, Sita Robotics develops tactile sensing technology designed to improve how robots perceive physical contact and manipulate objects.
The company’s core technology uses flexible photonic crystals, materials whose optical properties change when subjected to mechanical deformation. By combining these materials with flexible photosensitive panels, Sita has developed electronic skin capable of converting physical pressure into measurable optical signals.
According to the company, its electronic skin can measure less than 1 millimetre thick while providing more than 10,000 sensing points per square centimetre.
The technology is designed for robotic fingers, palms and other surfaces where conventional tactile sensors can be difficult to integrate because of their size and structural requirements.
Sita is also developing data collection equipment, tactile control models and robotic manipulation systems. Its product portfolio includes tactile sensing grippers, wearable data collection equipment and systems designed to support robot learning.
The company operates an approximately 800-square-metre integrated research and production facility in Shenzhen, combining materials development, prototyping, manufacturing and testing.
ChinaVenture reports that Sita has received an order for several hundred data collection devices, although completed deliveries and customer identities have not been independently confirmed.
The new investment will support further product development and commercialization across robotics, consumer electronics and industrial applications.
Sita has not disclosed the financing amount or company valuation.
