Galbot Showcases ET1, Its First Bipedal Humanoid

ET1 stands 1.25 meters tall and weighs 32 kg with its battery. The standard model has 26 degrees of freedom, while higher-end versions add 12 degrees of freedom through dexterous hands. Compute options include an NVIDIA Orin Nano with 40 TOPS or an Orin NX with 100 TOPS.  

Galbot introduced the robot at the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing, where ET1 appeared alongside the company’s existing wheeled humanoid. The company is positioning the new robot around real-time interaction and dynamic movement rather than the logistics and retail work associated with its G1 platform.  

ET1 is powered by a 100-million-parameter Transformer motion model. Galbot says the system can observe its surroundings, understand instructions, plan actions and learn new movements through interaction without relying on motion-capture data or prerecorded motion videos.  

Days after its debut, ET1 was demonstrated playing tennis against human players at the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing. The robot moved around the court, positioned itself for incoming balls and returned shots in real time.  

The tennis work builds on Galbot’s LATENT research, developed with researchers from Tsinghua University and Peking University. Earlier versions of the system were trained and tested on Unitree’s G1 humanoid before Galbot introduced its own bipedal hardware.  

Galbot has not yet announced pricing or a commercial release date for ET1.
