The agreement was disclosed on October 9 by Malaysian-listed technology company Nova MSC Berhad, which owns Dex-Lab.
According to the announcement, the agreement covers the sale and deployment of Dex-Lab’s humanoid robots in China over a contractual period extending to August 31, 2029.
The total commitment is valued at approximately RM16.1 million, equivalent to S$5 million.
Dex-Lab specializes in developing humanoid social robots designed for healthcare, elderly care and human interaction.
Its existing products include Daisy and Dexie, robotic systems designed to support activities such as cognitive engagement, guided exercises, multilingual conversations and social interaction.
The company has previously worked with healthcare institutions in Singapore, including SingHealth Community Hospitals, where its robots have been used to support patient engagement and rehabilitation activities.
The new agreement represents an expansion into the Chinese market, although the companies have not disclosed which robot models will be supplied.
Specific deployment locations, the number of robots covered by the agreement and delivery milestones have also not been announced.
Nova MSC said the transaction is expected to support Dex-Lab’s international expansion and contribute positively to the group’s future revenue.
Unlike many humanoid robotics companies developing general-purpose industrial machines, Dex-Lab has concentrated on social interaction and healthcare applications.
Its commercial strategy reflects a different segment of the humanoid market, where robots are designed to assist with communication, engagement and structured activities rather than industrial manipulation.
The agreement provides a multiyear commercial commitment, but its financial value should not be interpreted as revenue already recognized or robots already delivered.
